Scholarships are provided in many forms and at various times during the year. If you a student is
applying for a scholarships based on financial need, a FAFSA (Free Application
for Federal Student Aid) must be completed as soon as possible after January 1 to qualify for
maximum aid.
High school seniors can apply for the Board of Governors Graduating Senior
Scholarship and the Presidential Scholarship. Applications are due in
February.
Any student could be eligible for private foundation
scholarships. Applications are due March 15, 2007, and October 2007.
Students who have declared a major in science, technology, engineering or math could be eligible for
a STEP Scholarship.
Students enrolled full-time in the e-commerce program at MCC, can apply for the
Step into E-Commerce Scholarship.
MCC Board of Governors Scholarship for Graduating Seniors
The Board of Governors of Metropolitan Community College has established a scholarship program
for graduating high school seniors. Two recipients are selected from each high school in the four
county service area. To be eligible for the Board of Governors scholarship, students must have a
3.0 GPA or be in the top third of their graduating class. Students must also have demonstrated
extracurricular involvement. Contact a guidance counselor for more information.
MCC Presidential Scholarship for Graduating Seniors
The Board of Governors of Metropolitan Community College has established a scholarship program
for graduating high school seniors. Two recipients are selected from each high school in the four
county service area. To be eligible for the Presidential scholarship, students must have a 3.8 GPA
or be in the top ten percent of their graduating class. Students must also have demonstrated
participation in community service. Contact a guidance counselor for more information.
STEP Scholarships for Metro Students
The National Science Foundation has awarded STEP partners, UNO and MCC, scholarship funds for
students pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). MCC
students meeting specific criteria are eligible. This scholarship is on going.
Students can begin applying the quarter before they are within 30 quarter hours of completing
their requirements for a STEM degree.

Step Into E-Commerce Scholarship
The Step Into E-Commerce Scholarship is available to Metropolitan Community College students
enrolled full-time each quarter in the e-commerce program. An application, personal essay,
letter of recommendation from an MCC faculty member, and a personal interview are required. For
