Community Resources

Whether you are hunting for a job, researching a particular topic or looking for something to do in your leisure time, Metro can help. As reflected in our name, "Community College," Metro offers a variety of resources and services that are available to all members of the community. Here are links to some of these services:

  • Career Services - MCC Career Services offers assistance with career exploration, education & training opportunities and job search skills including résumé development, interviewing techniques, local labor market insights and job listings.
  • Community and Workforce Education - Community and Workforce Education is the fastest growing segment in America's educational system today. The need to continue one's education is brought into sharp focus when community concerns, leisure time, updating work skills and eliminating barriers to unemployment and under employment are considered. For more information, please call (402) 457-2594. For a listing of upcoming classes, view the Community Education class schedule.
  • Library - Libraries are located at each of Metro's three main campuses, and provide services to the residents of Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington counties. Metro's libraries provide materials in multiple formats including books, magazines, newspapers, audiotapes, CD-ROMs, videos and DVDs. Print non-print and e-book collections can be searched via GeoWeb, the library's online catalog.
  • Bistro L'EtudianteBistro L’Etudiante - Metro’s teaching bistro is operated by students at Metro's Institute for the Culinary Arts. It is located at Building #10 of the Fort Omaha campus and is open to the public Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 to 8:30 p.m. The Bistro features gourmet cuisine, including appetizers, soups, salads, entrees and desserts at reasonable prices. A different menu is featured each week, or you can also choose from a prix fixe menu. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 457-2615 or directly from the Bistro webpage at the Institute for the Culinary Arts website.
